This painting is all about the awe and inspiration of creation , inspired by Psalm 139.
It is a triptych, opening doors lead the eye to these words written on the two inside panels .
” If I ride the wings of the morning If I dwell in the farthest oceans , Even there , your hand will guide me And your strength will support me …the night shines as bright as day. I am knit together in my mothers womb wonderfully complex are the intimate and delicate parts inside . You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, woven together in the dark of the womb… You examine my heart and you know my every move and thought … You go before me and follow me and place your hand of blessing upon my head…such knowledge too wonderful for me to comprehend … Every moment was played out before a day had passed. Your thoughts outweigh the grains of sand and when I awake , you are there…”
The orchard and nest of roots, candle light, the clock of time, the lion and the lamb are all symbols of creation , metaphors within all of us.
Symbols are Hebraic letters spelling YAHWEH, Yahweh, a breathing technique I have used in times of stress, allowing the doors of my soul to open and close like in this triptych.
Art can indeed re-ignite our sense of wonder at creation.
Oil on Canvas and board with Gold Leaf and Gold Spray on the Hebraic lettering .
